About' Cambusnethan House ' is known as a Priory masterpiece and one of the last great houses of the upper Clyde Valley. Built on the 17th century Cambusnethan House site as a mock Priory for the Lockhart of Castlehill family, it was set in extensive and beautiful grounds. The house is two and three storeys high with turrets at each corner, a three-storey bow in the west elevation and a massive square porch. The house was used for mock medieval banquets in the 1970s but was more recently burnt out and now illegal. It has a gabled central block, flanking wings, with octagonal corner towers. See the beautiful building across the valley that shines in the sun.
