| About | Crichton Memorial Church is one of the most excellent examples of church architecture. The church was built from Locharbriggs using local red sandstone for the outside and Thornhill pink sandstone from the inside. The floor features white Sicilian marble and spectacular geomantic red, green, and black Connemara marble designs. The Church features a nave, chancel, and transepts. The church's first service took place with a dedication service on Sunday, October 15, 1897, where Elizabeth Crichton's prayer of dedication was read to the congregation. This church is familiar with regular services, and it is a popular venue for weddings, concerts, and other events. |
