AboutChester Cathedral is one of the oldest cathedrals in Chester. The cathedral was built in Romanesque, Gothic-style architecture. They aim to welcome the community whilst ensuring the survival of this cathedral for future generations. The church was slowly rebuilt from 1250 and onwards in Gothic style. This feat took 275 years and resulted in today’s truly incredible structure. They are a vibrant worship community, who welcome people from all over the world to attend the masses and prayers conducted in the cathedral. Chester Cathedral is a Grade I listed building with strong historical roots that date centuries back. Chester Cathedral's major parts were restored during the 19th century. The highly reviewed feature of the cathedral is the stained glass windows and the bell that is present in the Addleshaw Tower. Chester Cathedral organ was installed in 1844, which still helps the choir deliver mesmerising music during worship and other events.
