| About | 'Sri Senpaga Vinayagar Temple' is the Temple of the Hindu God Ganesha. The history of the Temple began more than 150 years ago. in the 1850s . with the discovery of a statue of Lord Vinayagar by the side of a pond. A Chempaka tree, Senpaga in Tamil, stood on the bank of the pond and gave the identifying element to the Sri Senpaga Vinayagar Temple. This Temple is a pair of nine-foot-tall Dwarapalakas (demigod gatekeepers) flanking the Rajagopura entrance tower, and it features the Chola style of architecture. The Temple has a peaceful environment. The Temple has deities Ganesha, Shiva, Karthikeya, Kala Bhairava, Bhrammi & Dakshinamoorthy. The Temple affords free meals for devotees. |
