| About | Kallanai Dam is built across the flowing River Kaveri constructed by Raja Raja Chola in second century AD. The dam spans over 1079 feet and is over 66 feet wide, and it is the oldest structure of a functioning water regulator in the entire world. The modern-day engineers and everyone visiting the dam is always mesmerised by the engineering method used to build the dam. The dam is made of rough stones and still in perfect condition. Visitors can find true peace here, watching the sunset and the overall spectacular view. There have also been numerous new developments for children, particularly like a park. |
