About	Samanar Hills is locally known as Thiruvuruvagam; it is where Jain monks lived about two thousand years ago. You can see the carving within the walls, which depict their most famous and revered monks. The inscriptions in Tamil and Kannada provide a great deal of insight into the city's history, the way of life and the laws they obey. You can see the monks' tone beds to rest on and two significant caves located within this complex. Samanar Hills has sculptures of Gomateshwara, Yaksha, and Yakshi found within these premises. Samanar Hills can be visited at any time of the year. Tourists can also visit the Temple of Karuppanasamy at the foot of the hills. Samanar Hills offers free admission for visitors.
