About	Mattancherry Palace is popularly known as Dutch Palace. It is a Portuguese palace now a museum displaying paraphernalia belonging to the rajas of Kochi. It lies in its simplicity, and it is built in the typical Kerala style mansions reserved for the nobility. The palace was surrounded by the central courtyard, which has a temple. Mattancherry Palace has murals depicting portraits of the Rajas of Kochi and exhibits. The paintings are done by the warm colours using the tempera technique and consist of a portrait gallery of the Cochin Rajas and beautiful mythological murals. These feature famous Indian epics such as the Ramayana and Mahabharata, as well as Hindu Gods such as Lord Krishna of Guruvayur Temple.
