| About | Amer Fort and palace is one of the finest tourist attractions in the whole of Rajasthan, not just in Jaipur District. The fort's architecture combines Mughal and Hindu styles, built with red sandstone and marble. Visitors can watch and walk through its high ramparts, many gates, paved paths and spectacular views. The fort's main complex has Diwan-l-Aam, a hall meant for the public, Diwan-l-K a hall for a private audience, the splendid Sheesh Mahal or the Mirror Palace Jai Mandir and the Sukh Niwas. Even if a single candle is lit inside the Sheesh Mahal, it reflects the thousands of mirrors. There are shops near the fort where you can buy Jaipuri stuff and handcrafted items. |
