| About | Wagah Border marks the boundaries between Indian & Pakistani borders, running along the Grand Trunk Road. The Wagah Border Ceremony, also known as the Beating Retreat Ceremony, is the main attraction. The Indian and Pakistani military forces assemble at this border checkpoint every evening shortly before sunset for a 30-minute demonstration of military camaraderie and showmanship. Closing the international gates and lowering the flags of both countries are part of this ritual. Since 1959, the Indian Border Security Force and Pakistan Rangers have held a flag ceremony. Its open all day for tourist. |
