| About | Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple is the most celebrated temple in Thiruvananthapuram. The temple was built more than 5000 years ago on the first day of Kali Yuga. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The temple is one of the 12 Vaishnavite Saints of the Alvar tradition in the 9th century. The Vishnu temple was founded in Dravidian style with a massive fort gateway, and it is among the 108 Divya Desams, the central worship in Vaishnavism's dharma. The temple comprises two separate shrines dedicated to Ugra Narasimha and Krishna. Due to Mandala Makaraviluku season, an additional darshan facility is allotted from 04:15 pm to 05:00 pm and after 08:00 pm for a 50rs ticket. |
