About	The Government College for Women, Nawakadal, is situated on the southern bank of river Jehlum is the only institution of Higher Education for Women ideally located in Shehr. E -Khas. They are dedicated to excellence in the field of higher learning & committed to the cause of empowerment of women through the instrument of education. The Government College for Women was founded in 1961 with Arts and Science subjects and a teaching faculty of 19 members with just 50 students. Since its establishment, the College has gradually achieved multidisciplinary character, and at present, the College offers various undergraduate courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, Social Science, and Professional and vocational courses. The Government College for Women has produced many position holders and has won many prizes in curricular and co-curricular activities. They have a well equipped Computer Centre, Computer Labs, IT Centre, an Internet facility & well established EDUSAT Lab.
