About	Openspace Architecture is a renowned firm that believes that the best design process is a mix of the old and the new. Don Gurney is the founder and Principal of the firm, who leads the project team. He focused on achieving the clients’ vision. Don Gurney actively participates in workshops, architectural design, programming and space relationships, site analysis and sustainable design. All projects still start with a pen & tracing paper as this allows for quick sketching of initial concepts from mind to paper. However, large-scale hand drafting days are behind them, and projects quickly progress to digital two and 3D drawing. Openspace Architecture uses an integrated design process (IDP) that integrates all disciplines and building elements into one cohesive digital 3D model. In essence, this model is the complete building in digital form and becomes the basis for producing the drawings used to build the home.
