About	Lot 9 Architects is originally established as Sam Laffin Architect in 2014, and Lot 9 Architects was restructured in 2019 as a partnership between Sam Laffin and Kristin James. Sam gained formative experience with Ian MacDonald Architect, working for over five years on award-winning modern residential projects. In 2014 Sam established Sam Laffin Architect in his hometown of Kingston, Ontario. Kristin has over ten years of experience working on projects in both the institutional and private sectors that range from small-scale renovations to new, large-scale buildings. After graduation from Dalhousie University with a Master of Architecture, Kristin worked for Denis Byrne Architects in Dublin. Kristin was exposed to the high level of design rigour found in Irish architectural culture.
