About | Thunder Bay Museum center was founded in 1908 to preserve and analyze Northwestern Ontario's history through seminars, journals, monuments, plaques, and record preservation. It will connect with the people of Thunder Bay and Northwestern Ontario in a spirit of openness through its exhibitions, publications, collections, and services. The first floor of the museum has permanent exhibits about all aspects of local history. The second floor is known as James Murphy Room which is used for meetings and programming. Visitors can explore 1900 maps and plans, 150,000 photographic images and a 2200 volume library. |
