AboutRiverview Park and Zoo is Peterborough's largest park. Ross Dobbin started it in 1933. He was the Executive Director of the Peterborough Utilities Commission (PUC). Riverview Park and Zoo is a wonderful place to enjoy a stroll in a peaceful and tranquil setting while experiencing the natural beauty of Peterborough. About 150 animals and more than 40 species are in Riverview Park and Zoo. All the zoo animals can be either within their private belongings or out in their naturalized exhibits. The excellent otter exhibit, which opened in 2007, has two pools, a waterfall, a slide, and outdoor spaces for the animals to walk, play and hide. It is open 365 days of the year and is free admission.
