About | Maryboro Lodge is the James Wallis historic house, built-in 1837. It is a volunteer-maintained community museum. Its artifacts, artworks and immersive projects demonstrate how people in the Kawarthas lived, worked and played. There were two large parlours, a dining room and five bedrooms in the two-story square-timber house. Maryboro Lodge prominently displayed the Wallis crest on every one of the three gables. It was the first home of such quality in the region. It offers free admission to children. You can also enjoy the Maryboro Lodge virtual Museum. It offers special events and maintaining a local history archive for all ages. |
