About | In August 1970, the Grande Prairie Museum opened to preserve the area's pioneering history. About 55,000 objects belong to the total collection of the Museum. Later, the heritage village combined with the museum, known as Grande Prairie Museum & Heritage Village. It provides high accessibility standards and is ideal for all ages. The galleries display temporary and permanent exhibits, including features from the prehistoric era, the Peace Region's first homesteads and modern times. In the Grande Prairie Museum & heritage village, visitors can find a wide range of exhibits, including a paleontological replica dig site featuring Edmontosaur bones, prehistoric stone tools used by early indigenous people. Visit the Grande Prairie Museum & heritage village, and explore the history. The Heritage Village is also fun to walk around and see with friends or family. It offers free admission. |
