AboutBrubacher House, also known as John E. Brubacher House, is a historic house museum built in 1850. The house was built in a Pennsylvania German architectural style using fieldstone. The museum showcases the home life of 19th-century Mennonite pioneers in Waterloo County. The university of waterloo faculty of environment campaigned to preserve and restore the old Mennonite farmhouses on the campus. By 1968, the vacant farmhouse burned down, damaging the roof and wooden structural components. The house was rebuilt by 1975 and was given heritage designation. Brubacher House started the tour in the 1980s. It has a small adjacent parking lot and is within walking distance of the University of Waterloo.
