AboutTerry Fox Monument and Lookout is a bronze statue of nine-foot-high, set on a 45-ton granite base with a local amethyst frame, which commands a stunning view of Lake Superior. The Terry Fox monument, which depicts Fox, offers a panoramic view of Thunder Bay and its surroundings. It was built in remembrance of Terry Fox, the daring one-legged athlete who embarked on a cross country run for cancer research, "The Hope Marathon."
