About	The Port Theatre is the modern 800-seat theatre for live performances, including comedy, plays, rock shows & symphony. With over 150 volunteers, their Society’s volunteer roster is one of the largest in Nanaimo. Their programs involve local groups and touring attractions and provide access to events for families, seniors and adults, thereby enriching the overall quality of life in the region. It also provides a variety of educational and artistic programming for Vancouver Island youth. It offers only $5, including most of its Spotlight shows and a selection of community events. It provides VIU Technical Theatre students opportunities to shadow the Port Theatre’s professional technicians during performances and rehearsals.
