About	Fort Creek Conservation Area was constructed between 1968 and 1971 and had a reservoir of approximately 3.24 hectares (8 acres). It also provides the ancillary benefit of green space. Its recreational opportunities include wildlife habitat, hiking, picnicking, or winter, and visitors can go snowshoeing, tobogganing, or cross country skiing. This conservation area covers approximately 77 hectares (191 acres) situated in the middle of Sault Ste. Marie. It creates a sense of tranquillity in the city's heart with beautiful great lakes in St. Lawrence Forest and wetlands. The Fort Creek Dam provides the ancillary benefit of green space recreational opportunities and wildlife habitat. Hikers can explore the diversity of scenery and have lunch under the pavilion. Fort Creek Conservation Area offers a delightful diversion in the winter, and visitors can go snowshoeing.
