| About | Hemlock Ravine Park is one of the most famous urban nature parks in Halifax. It is a sloped 200-acre nature park with 2.5 miles of marked trails, and off-leash areasIts trail is the most scenic part of the park, with huge trees, steep slopes, trickling streams, and has a small off-leash area for dogs. The trails are well marked and maintained with regular signage, maps, benches and garbage cans. Hemlock Ravine Park has four-kilometre stacked loop trails that offer many routes for jogging and a view of nature in all seasons. The park's main attraction is the heart-shaped pond, known as Julie's Pond, created by Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, for his mistress. In autumn, you can see a parade of vibrant colours from the moment you enter the park. |
