About	Merciful Redeemer Parish church was established by Fr Joseph Wasik, who was appointed as pastor on June 8, 1996. Fr Joseph Wasik can also be mentioned to be the founding pastor of Merciful Redeemer Parish. The church establishment of the new parish community was a response to overcrowding of the neighbouring churches. Thanksgiving and the first mass were celebrated for the first time in 2001 after moving to the new building. After, the church was overflowing with visitors and parishioners. Merciful Redeemer Parish is one of the older, active and growing establishments that includes four elementary schools, Their Lady of Mercy, St. Sebastian, Divine Mercy and St. Rose of Lima and a high school named St. Aloysius Gonzaga, across the church. Merciful Redeemer Parish church blessing and dedication of the church to the Merciful Redeemer was led by Cardinal Ambrozic on April 7, 2002. Along with a large number of priests concelebrated in the solemn mass.
