About	St. Patrick’s Parish is one of the pioneer parishes in Markham. The first mass was celebrated on September 23, 1855. As the community continued to grow, more space was required, and a new and larger church was built by 1870. By 1932, the church became a separate parish. Priests from St. Augustine’s Seminary journeyed to Markham and beyond to celebrate mass. By 1904, the church had twenty-two registered families. The Catholic community continued to expand, and by 1960, a larger church was needed to accommodate the surging growth. The current church was built between 1969 & 1970. Over 7500 families are registered to the church, and the visitors' count is increasing gradually over time. They become a vibrant, loving community that lives for God and others. St. Patrick’s Parish brings God's love into the world through a life-changing friendship with Jesus.
