About	Queen Street Mall is a pedestrian mall situated on Queen Street in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The mall is approximately 500 metres (1,600 ft) from George Street to Edward Street and has over 700 stores over 40,000 square metres (430,000 sq ft) of retail space, including six major shopping centres. It receives more than 26 million visitors per year. It was supposed to attract more tourists to the central business district. Robin Gibson designed the mall (architect). The mall underwent a $25,000,000 refurbishment in 1999, which saw (among other things) the terracotta flooring being replaced by granite. The entertainment stage for music, model shows and other performances is near the end of the George Street Mall, between the Myer Center and the Queen Adelaide Building.
