| About | Mayes Cottage is a 19th century, heritage-listed house developed as a museum. It is one of the earliest surviving houses in the Kingston district. This beautiful cottage was built in 1887 by the Mayes Family. It was maintained by Logan City Council and staffed by volunteers. The cottage is a small one-storeyed timber building that features a variety of outbuildings and establishes vegetation. It has original family furniture dating from the 1880s to the 1930s. The cottage has two bedrooms, a sitting room, a formal dining room, a sleepout, and a kitchen. Mayes Cottage provides tours, and no booking is required for groups under 15 people. The museum is free to visit and open to everyone. |
