AboutOrange Town Hall is an impressive, well-maintained structure. It was standing on the corner of Lords Place and Byng Street. Colonial architect JJ Clarke designed it in stuccoed Italianate. The foundation stone was laid by the then Mayor, Mr J.M. Paul, on 21 July of that year. The first Council meeting was held in the building on the 3rd of April 1888. The final Orange City Council meeting in the old Town Hall was held in July 1976, with Council officially moving into the new Civic Centre on August 2.
