AboutLaunceston Centenary Clock & Chimes is a heritage-listed post office located at Cameron Street in Launceston, Tasmania. The Launceston Centenary Clock and Chimes commemorate the centenary of the town of Launceston in 1906. The clock and chimes were handed over to the town in 1910 when the centenary plaque was unveiled. William Waters Eldridge designed it, and it is a Federation Free Style prototype. The tower is a dominant built element in the surrounding precinct and marks the historical centre of town incorporating the government offices State Library and Town Hall service centre.
