About | The Weld Hall was built from 1874 through 1881 and progressively developed and adapted after that. In the memorial of Governor Frederick Weld, this building was named The Weld Hall. The Weld Theatre is a single-story brick building in the Victorian Italianate style with a galvanized iron roof. It is symmetrically disposed and has a long central wing with a simple porch. It has heritage significance as the place is associated with various organizations, including the Mechanics. The place later served as a town hall, a meeting place for the Returned Services League and still later from 1960 as a Repertory Club. |
