About | Kondalilla National Park is a national park in the Blackall Range of South East Queensland. William Skene founded the area on his properties while looking for missing cattle. The park was formally protected as a recreation area for the first time in 1906, becoming a national park in 1945. It has a habitat for 107 bird species. A large green grass location near Baroon Pocket is an important gathering spot in this park. During the nut crop peak every three years, Kabi Kabi and his neighbours Wakka Wakka hosted the Bonyee Festival. Many guests travelled long distances from coastal and inland areas to exchange food, songs and dances, plan marriages and other social experiences. There is a nice park area for kids to run around and have a picnic or BBQ. |
