About | Burleigh Head National Park is an icon of the Gold Coast. It occupies 27.6 ha and is controlled by the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) under the 1992 Nature Conservation Act. It was first set aside as a reserve for public purposes in 1886 and was officially recognised as a national park in 1947. It is also the only rocky headland on the Gold Coast that remains significantly in its natural state. Various ecosystems, including grasslands, lowland rainforests and pandanus groves, are conserved in the park. Burleigh Head National Park is one of the best spots in the entire world to marvel at Creation. It takes about a 40-minute walk with gorgeous views, especially at the top, where you can get an amazing view of gold coast beach. |
