About	Howards Professional Driving School is owned and operated by Paul and Maria James. The driving school has been operating in the Cairns region for 43 years, and it is the only RACQ approved driving school in the area. Their instructors are all trained in-house. Their instructors can teach old drivers, new drivers, young drivers, drivers changing from automatic to manual licences and international drivers, and refresher courses. All driving instructors have undergone training with Watto's Training, a Registered Training Organisation. Howards uses current model cars for all driving lessons. In addition, Howards Professional Driving School has a specially modified vehicle to provide driving education for people with disabilities. The school has a car fitted with hand throttle and brake controls for drivers requiring special aids. They also offer free driving lessons through the accredited Keys 2 Drive program.
