About	Sacred Heart Cathedral is a substantial brick building of Gothic style architecture. It is a heritage-listed cathedral that Dennis Kelleher built. The church is also known as the Church of the Sacred Heart. Sacred Heart Cathedral was established to serve the growing Catholic and parish communities in the locality. As the years moved, the population started expanding, and the church was planning to move the church to a more prominent and central location. A design competition was held, and design was selected for the cause of expanding the church with a large basement space and a superstructure consisting of naive aisles. The foundation stone for the new Church of the Sacred Heart was laid on 7 October 1900, and the church was completed and opened on 16 November 1902. Sacred Heart Cathedral faced many renovations and expansion over the years, now standing as a landmark with a strong association with the community.
