| About | St. Gregory's CatholicParish is one of the oldest historical churches in Queanbeyan. The church first Mass was said in the incomplete stone Church of St Gregory the Great. The architecture of St Gregory’s was loosely based on town church designs by Augustus Welby Pugin, the leading Catholic Gothic Revival architect of the time. St. Gregory's CatholicParish new stone and wooden altar made by Bablinski of Newtown, Sydney, was added to the church with other improvements. The Church St Gregory’s Church was renovated after one hundred years since its dedication in 1957. It is also the front door to their faith community that leads and invites people to come and explore, or where they can come and join in whatever gives them life. St Gregory’s church has been used over recent years for Polish, Croatian and Italian masses, as well as school masses. |
