AboutField Museum is a natural history museum in Chicago, Illinois, and is one of the largest such museums in the world. Since the establishment of the museum, the collection has grown to nearly 40 million artifacts and specimens. It has over 40 million specimens and artifacts. The collection developed from items on display at the Columbian Exhibition of the World in 1893. With 65,000 exhibits packed with historical sites and cultural artifacts, many of which later found a permanent place in Chicago. More than 150 scientists in the museum are working on discoveries. The field trip opportunities of the field museum provide thrilling, hands-on displays of science and social studies in Chicago's historic environment. Field Museum offers free admission for children age under three. The exposition wowed visitors with 65,000 exhibits packed with natural wonders and cultural treasures, many of which were ultimately permanently housed in Chicago at the newly established Field Columbian Museum.
